which way is up?

It's not very often that I attempt nail art for the simple fact that I'm no good at it! However, yesterday I gave it a shot. My nail inspiration was Zooey Deschanel and her 'Tuxedo' nails. I posted a picture on them on instagram last night (@morningmondayvintage) but there they are again!

If you follow me on instagram, I'm sure you will have seen that we have just recently got a kitten and he has been named 'Mr.Nogart' (don't ask!) the cutest little pain in the arse ever and I'm a bit obsessed with him, bound to be a crazy cat lady of some kind when I'm old!

My newest love are these dunagrees I got for a beautiful price of £4 from a chairty shop! Perfect fit and so easy to dress. Also teamed with my dress that was featured here that I tucked in as a blouse. The shoes shown below are a new purchase from the absolutely beautiful brand YMC , I think these shoes retailed at £160 (don't quote me on that) and I got them for a wonderful price of around £35 off ebay!

I've been such a lazy blogger, however my excuse is I've had absolutely no picture inspiration, boo :( so this is just a short one to feature my new dress that is beautiful and I'm completely in love with it!)

It's got that print that you always see on bed linen and curtains and cushions but not always that often on clothing. Having this print dress now kind of makes me gladIi didn't get the curtains and bedding otherwise I may have a looked a bit obsessed ..

So, the fit of this dress is perfect, it sinches in at the waist but not too tight so it's comfortable. I don't know what anyone else has thought when they've look at the dress but I thought it was quite sitff material or just plain cotton that you'd get a bog standard blouse made out of , but to my surprise it was a really light material, almost a cold material (if that makes sense ..(I'm no material expert)).
I love the cut out shoulders of this dress, I personally think it gives it a bit of an edge to make it stand out from a normal print shirt/dress.
Normally with dresses like this, they're too short for me because I have long legs, however this one is a good length without being too long or too short (although I do love a good midi dress).

The extra specialness about this dress is that my lovely lovely boy drove to Norwich on his day off work to surprise me with it when I got home from work (what a cutie!) along with some new bedding and a houndstooth pencil skirt from Primark and one of my favourites carbonara for dinner!

daisy days

This is a good time to be writing a post, just defeated the boy on mario kart! now got some Reese's peanut butter cups for blogging inspiration ...

This outfit is a new little put together, I know it's not completely fancy or anything spectacularly wild, but it worked! Unfortunately the trousers are a little big for me as they are a size 12, (debating whether to get them taken in or not) but i loved the print, reminded me slightly of rupert bear trousers (except a different colour of course). In a way it's quite handy them being a little big as I can wear them high waisted with a skinny black belt. As you may have guessed these are yet another charity shop purchase at an amazing £1!Ii also added just a small white crop top to the outfit for a bit of simplicity and also a mint green cardigan later as it was quite a windy day! The white crop top was purchased from Topshop at a very reasonable £6 and I think it's quite easy to wear. Although I'm not usually one that likes to show any flesh around the middle (despite having tattoos on my ribs) I thought I'd break this thought .. My bog standard basic black wedges finished off this outfit that I got from H&M in Norwich along with the mint green cardigan. I know that everyone has been buying the Topshop coloured socks with the frill trim but I personally love them and everyone who I've seen wearing them has made them look so good!

Going along to the Vintage Market at Snape Maltings on Sunday with the boy and maybe some family, I'm sure I'll pick up a few gems that I'll share with you guys!

this post is featuring the dress i wore to my mums wedding. i've wanted to wear it for ages but it's always seemed too dressy as obviously it was a bridesmaid dress! however, i got it out of my wardrobe earlier and it fits perfectly still and i love the vibrant colour, and the bodice of the dress is so securing and feels so comfortable.
to try and dress it down i knew it needed something, so of course a little light bulb popped above my head and there came the white blouse.
the skirt is my absolute favourite part of the dress, how could you not love it? it's got two layers of mesh under skirt and lots of material so it all completely flows and has alot of volume.
such a shame it's been really off weather lately as i haven't been able to wear this much (as i took this photo a week ago!)
as i'm sure you all know it was my dad's wedding on the weekend, and oh my gosh it was such an amazing day it really was! i won't go into too much detail now as i have a big post on it's way so keep an eye it for it soon with ALOT of photos!



lace filled lazydays

feeling very sorry for myself writing this post from my sofa as i'm not very well! .. luckily i'm comfy on my big oxblood red leather chesterfield, latest edition to our house!
anyway, i haven't blogged in about a week so i'm feeling very guilty about this! this post is just a mix and match of rumaging through my wardrobe. i haven't worn this lace dress in ages, it's a Topshop dress that i originally got off ebay, i was so happy when i got it, i really like it and it's so easy to wear, i think it gives quite an easy girly look without trying too hard.
the creepers are still my favourite and i love them, i just never wear them so i can't justify having them sitting in my wardrobe all lonely!
i picked up the blazor on saturday from charity shop in ipswich, it's quite big so i think it'll be a bit difficult to dress, but i'm sure i'll find something to wear it with!

i think today's project is going to consist of trying my own version of DIY nails based on this post by the lovely Vic from Golly Gosh. going to fish out some old vogue magazines and see what prints i can find! post to be followed tomorrow!

it's such a good/happy week, saw my mum on the weekend and she told me all about her new house that her and her husband are getting as of the 15th July, which is their dream house so that'll be amazing!
and of course, this weekend is my dad's wedding which i'm SO SO excited about and very excited to see all the outfits put together because they're all hand made! however i'm a bit stuck on how to do my hair though, need to base it on the 50's maybe, so any ideas please do say! needs to include this purple fascinator as shown here.



owl of the night

yesterday's outfit of the day, i spent the day with my lovely friend Sarah, and we raided some charity shops and some vintage shops that we found in ipswich. for once we were quite restrained with how much spending we did! i got myself a pastel yellow and polka dot scarf and a navy blue vintage sailor playsuit from a little shop called Fairweather Vintage , the scarf actually came from a vintage shop down by the Marina in Ipswich.
typical me, i didn't actually wear the exact outfit that's below, i swapped the brogue creepers for some pumps and the polka dot shorts for a midi pastel pink pleated skirt!

passing the time

 

this past week has been pretty odd, it's been a normal week of work each day but being a soppy buggar i've missed my boyfriend so much. seeing as i'm still on the ebay ban, i've been trying to make the most of the clothes i have.

about 2 weeks ago i bought these white tights off ebay, but as they were coming from Hong Kong i think it was they took ages to arrive. anyway, they came through the other day and i don't know what it is but i'm so in love with them!

the skirt i made myself from a midi skirt i bought off ebay ages ago, to give it a sort of grungey look. i love customising stuff and i'm starting to get more into it. i recently studded the collar and shoulders of my leather jacket, and i love it, makes it more in your face and i love clothing/accessories that are in your face!

lastly the shoes, these are my new creations, if you have me on twitter/instagram you will have seen that i customised these the other night. it was pretty simple, i bought some plain black velvet slipper shoes off ebay that are topshop, bought some pearl beads off ebay and just sew'd them on, simple!
